Tahoe Donner is often referred to as the bellwether of Tahoe real estate. A community of 6,000 lots and over 5,500 homes built provides a great sample size. It is hard to do real estate actively in the Truckee Tahoe market and not be involved in multiple transactions a year even if not aggressively pursuing. But don’t get me wrong, Tahoe Donner is absolutely worth aggressively pursuing. The amenity package is very high quality and affordable currently at $1,800 a year per household. The amenites include one of the best golf courses in Tahoe, Trout Creek Recreation Center, Beach Club, Tennis Center, hiking and biking trails, equestrian, cross country ski, downhill, the Lodge Restaurant, Pizza on the Hill and more. Tahoe Donner is arguably the best value play for the $500-$1 million second home purchase. Tahoe Donner is always a great option for the buyer that is underwhelmed at what $800,000 will allow them to buy in Squaw Valley or Northstar.
