Olympic Valley is the proper name but everyone knows it as Squaw Valley, home of the 1960 Olympics and the world famous Squaw Valley, USA ski area. Squaw Valley is known for extreme skiing and the amazing setting. Past, present and future Olympians regularly spend time on the chairlifts of KT-22 and still live and work in the Valley. There is now great bike path access from Squaw Valley all the way to Tahoe City which is 5 miles away. The mountain biking and hiking options are endless. Homes in Squaw can range from $500,000-$8 million. Condo options abound in Squaw between the Village at Squaw, the Squaw Lodge, Resort at Squaw Creek and the original Squaw condos that have been in place since the Olympics. Home and condo purchases in Squaw are almost unanimously driven by access to the ski area whether it be for kids on race teams or just general ski area access. The recent addition of Alpine Meadows so the Squaw Valley ski pass is a bonus. Squaw is 11 miles from Truckee.
